This is a transmission housing, as well as can be say  HPDC Gearbox housing, the casting wall is relatively thick and not even, because this was previously made per low pressure die casting and the part design did very minor change when shifting to high pressure die casting due to disapproval from end-user, the big challenge is how to balance the  temperature and minimize the hot spots where the wall is thicker, another challenge is caused by the part structure which is with big mass on one side and much less on the other side, which will lead to different shrinkage rate for casting itself, how to ensure the form& position tolerance must be considered carefully during the die design.
