Eurycoma longifolia commonly known as tongkat ali or pasak bumi, is a tall, slender evergreen flowering shrub-tree in the family Simaroubaceae. This plant is commonly found on sandy soilin Southeast Asia including Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. In vitro studies have been carried out on the plant's antimalarial, antiulcer, antipyretic, and aphrodisiac activity as well as cytotoxic activity against cancer cells. The tea made from this plant popularly taken as a traditional remedy to improve the male libido, sexual prowess and fertility.
