Product Detail

Description: Lithopone, C.I. Pigment White 5, is produced by coprecipitation of barium sulfate and zinc sulfide. It is widely used as white pigment powder. It is composed of a mixture of barium sulfate and zinc sulfide. These insoluble compounds blend well with organic compounds and confer opacity. The material came in different "seals", which varied in the content of zinc sulfide. It was made popular by the cheap production costs, greater coverage. It is mainly used in paints, putty, and in plastics.

Application: It is used as a base for lake pigment and used as a inert pigment for paint, ink and cosmetics as well as in a large range of applications in plastic industry. It is used as a filler in paper, leather, and linoleum.
