Chondroitin Sulfate
Chondroitin Sulfate consists of repeating chain of molecules called glycosaminoglycans(GAGs) which is extracted from animal cartilage and trachea. It is derived from the same polymer D-glucuronic acid and D-N-acetyl galatoasmine. They can be sulphated at positions 4 or 6 of N-acetyl galactosamine and position 2 of the uronic acid. The molecular weight of Chondroitin Sulafte is between 10,000 Daltons to 30,000 Daltons. It contains 50 to 70 glycosaminoglycan.
