When aluminum profile comes out of the extruder, the temperature is about 5500C and seldom felt can stand such high temperature for long time. PBO fiber is the kind of material that can resist high temperature up to 6000C. The needle-punched roller that combines PBO and KEVLAR layer is the ideal product to use for the extrusion initial area and run-out table.

It is the density of the PBO roller that decides its service life rather than the thickness. The high density PBO layer enables the roller to work continuously under temperature of 5500C, and at the same time to stand the abrasion from different shapes of the profile. For those not dense enough rollers, since the conjunction between PBO fiber and the KEVLAR fiber underneath is not strong enough, the exposed PBO layer is liable of wearing off quickly under constant abrasion, and once the PBO layer is over, the KEVLAR layer is not lasting for more than 15 days.
A metalloid fiber as PBO fiber is, the strength is extremely high (20 times of that of the steel), and therefore it is difficult to produce high-density rollers, e.g. needle breaking is the hardest rock to knock down in term of technology.
