Product Detail

I. Pharmacology
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic derivative of Pleuromutilin. It is highly active against Gram-positive organisms such as Streptococci, Staphylococci and against Mycoplasmas and Serpulina (Treponema) Hyodysenteriae. A number of Shigella, Klebsiella and E. coli are also quite susceptible to this agent. Some anaerobic species including Bacteroides Fragilis and Clostridium Perfringens with no exception are sensitive to Tiamulin.
Tiamulin acts bacteriostatically. The biochemical basis for the antibacterial action is inhibition of protein synthesis, by binding to 70S ribosomes.

II. Adaptability
Tiamulin is used for prevention and control of mycoplasmal diseases such as enzootic pneumonia and chronic respiratory disease in pigs and poultry; and swine dysentery, porcine colonic spirochaetosis and porcine proliferative enteropathy. Tiamulin possesses following features:

III. Characteristics of Product
Tiamulin shows up in white or almost white crystalline powder, soluble in methanol and ethanol, dissolved in water, melting point 143-149 ℃.

IV. Precaution and Handling
There is no known effect from chronic exposure to this product. Repeated or prolonged exposure is not known to aggravate medical condition. However, product dust may cause sneezing, skin irritation or antibiotic sensitivities in some individuals.
Handling of this product should be in accordance with good industrial hygiene and saftey practice. While someone exposes his hands, eyes and nose to the dust of the product, uniform, rubber gloves, safety glasses and dust masks or gas respirators are necessary.

V. Storage and Package
This product should be kept under conditions cool, dry and low temperature ( no higher than 30℃). Direct sunlight, moisture and high humidity should be avoided. For preventing poisoning, the product should be kept away from food and water. Combustible materials and strong oxidizing agents also should be kept from the product.
This product is packed in cardboard drum containing 20Kg or 25Kg each.
