Neohesperidin is a bitter,white powder.Its melting point is 236 ~ 237.Soluble in water,soluble in hot ethanol,but insoluble in ether.
Neohesperidin is a new natural nutrition sweetener,which is extracted from aurantium.The sweetness of Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone obtained hydrogenated from Neohesperidin is 1500-2000 times that of sucrose.And Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is widely used in fruit juice, wine,beverages,cakes and pharmaceutical formulations sweetener,particularly suitable as diabetic foods.
Neohesperidin also has effects on the cure for capillary fragility and high permeability of plasma protein.It has been known as vitamins of maintaining capillary permeability or vitamin P.
