  White amorphous powder. Soluble in hydrofluoric acid and hot strong sulfuric acid, insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and dilute sulphuric acid.Soluble in water after melting with KHSO4 or hydrogen oxidation alkali or carbonic acid alkali into titanium acid-base. The relative density about 4.0. Melting point 1855 degrees. Molecular weight: 79.88. A non-toxic, best opacity, best whiteness and brightness white inorganic pigment.

Widely used in various structure surface coatings, paper coating and packing, plastic and elastomer, other usages include ceramic, glass, catalyst, coated fabric, printing ink and flux. Demand of Tio2 for photoelectric catalyst is also increasing. As titanium dioxide has many environment friendly characteristics, mainly applies in the fresh air adjusting equipment; NOx removal functions:the application in highway laid materials and traffic signs coatings, etc.
