  As early as 1811, scientist H. Davery from U.S. used KClO3 aqueous solution and hydrochloric acid reaction, synthesized and collected the chlorine dioxide gas first time. However, still to30 years of 20th century, ClO2 was able to produce and widely use with industrialization. In 1944, chlorine dioxide for the first time as a disinfectant to handle the drinking water for Niagara Falls City, New York. The late of the last century, since the successful development of chlorine dioxide stabilizer, as a bleacher and disinfectant has been widely used in pulp bleaching, food processing areas and water purification and other areas, the fully showed that it has a strong bleaching and disinfection capabilities.
Chlorine dioxide is internationally recognized as the most new generation of efficient, broad-spectrum, safe sterilization, preservation agent. It was the ideal replacing of chlorine preparations, has been widely used by the developed countries.
